“The Hall of Fame Selection committee met and selected two very meritorious new inductees.” stated Hall of Fame Selection Committee Chairman Richard Howell. “Congratulations to both of them on this prestigious honor”.

After taking over the head coaching role in 2000, Amy Bryant elevated the Emory University women’s tennis program into one of the premier tennis powerhouses, not only in Division III but across all levels of collegiate tennis with her teams reaching unprecedented success. In her 23 seasons at the helm, Bryant’s teams compiled an overall record of 428-116, reaching the NCAA postseason in every season.  This includes 7 National Division III Team championships, 6 NCAA Division III singles champions, 5 NCAA Division III doubles champions, 18 University Athletic Association (UAA) championships, 103 All-American honors, 7 Academic All-Americans and 5 NCAA Postgraduate scholars.  Bryant was the first woman in NCAA history to win the national team championship as both a coach and player.

Atlanta’s Jon Niemeyer has made extensive and lasting contributions to tennis in Georgia and beyond. As a player, he had a remarkable career at West Georgia College, earning all-conference honors each year and achieving a phenomenal 78-2 record in conference matches. In 1963, Jon became the Director of Tennis at Druid Hills Golf Club, marking the beginning of a long career of service to the tennis community. He went on to contract with DeKalb County Parks, where he played a pivotal role in the establishment and operation of Blackburn Tennis Center, which he managed 35 years from 1976 to 2011. He also managed the DeKalb Tennis Center for 27 years, further cementing his status as a principal in Georgia tennis. Not to be outdone, he was an instrumental figure in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic tennis event, serving as event host at the Stone Mountain Tennis Center.

Bryant, Niemeyer & Sasseville will be honored at the 2025 Sessions Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by First Horizon Bank on Saturday evening August 9th at Marietta Country Club.  Tickets will go on sale for the festivities on June 1st
