Adult Tournament Criteria

These criteria are specifically designed for the convenience of USTA Georgia tournament staff and should be reviewed before or while you are in the process of organizing and conducting your current events.  If you are unable to find the answer to your tournament questions, please contact the USTA Georgia office during normal business hours.

Round Robin draws are encouraged when draws are small in all levels of adult tournaments. Team Events may use round robin draws exclusively.

Late Entries

  • If draws are not full, Tournament Directors can take late entries as long as draws are not POSTED.  
  • If the draw is full, Tournament Directors may take late entries onto the alternate list, only if the player is not ranked higher than the last seed.
  • Tournament Directors may charge up to $25 late entry fee.
 

Residency Requirements for Closed Tournaments

Only players who have established a legal residency in Georgia, hold a current USTA membership card assigned to Georgia, and who are citizens of the United States or meet the international player requirements for a national ranking are eligible to participate in Georgia closed tournaments. These residency requirements must be satisfied at least thirty (30) days prior to the entry date of each Tournament. Please click here for more information.
