Congratulations to Coosa Valley Tennis Association Past President Dave Dawson on being selected for the USTA National CTA L.E.A.D. Initiative program (Leadership, Empowerment and Development).
The program is a national leadership development experience designed for Community Tennis Association (CTA) leaders who are ready to strengthen their organizations, expand access to tennis, and create lasting impact in their communities. Built on a proven leadership model, this initiative brings together CTA leaders from across the country for a cohort-based learning experience that blends expert instruction, peer collaboration, and real-world application.
The program culminates with a visit to the 2026 US Open and Arthur Ashe Kids Day in New York City.
Previous Georgia community leaders participating in the L.E.A.D. Initiative were Emily Davenport (COTA, 2025), Stewart Atkins (Golden Isles Tennis, 2024), Sarah Cargle (CVTA, 2024), LaShekia Barker (USTA Atlanta, 2022), Mary Cay Morgan (Macon Area Tennis Association, 2022) and Daniel Huang (CSRATA, 2022).
Dave has contributed to the culture and growth of tennis in the Rome area for many years as a dedicated and passionate volunteer. Congratulations Dave!
