Fiona Hatton To Receive John Callen “Excellence in Leadership” Award

MARIETTA, GA – USTA Georgia is pleased to announce that Fiona Hatton is the 2024 recipient of the prestigious John Callen “Excellence in Leadership” Award. The award is named after longtime USTA Southern Executive Director and USTA Georgia Past President John Callen, who passed away in April 2022. The award recognizes a USTA, Community Tennis Association or NJTL staff member who exemplifies leadership and excellence in their organization.

Fiona has been part of the USTA Georgia staff since January 2015 in the schools department. Through her leadership along with Amanda Boudreau, USTA Georgia’s in-school outreach program is the largest in the southern region, measured by teachers, serviced schools and impact. Notably, Fiona has led the charge to having tennis be a vital part of all adaptive physical education departments across the Peach State through education, equipment, funding and support. With these efforts, USTA Georgia’s mission of “growing tennis to inspire healthier communities across Georgia” is being fulfilled.

“It is an incredible honor to receive the John Callen Excellence in Leadership award,” reflected Fiona. “My USTA career started at USTA Southern and having known John makes receiving this award even more special. Work never feels like a job and every day brings a new challenge to simply bring the community together with tennis.”

Fiona (along with other USTA Georgia annual awards winners) will be recognized at the USTA Georgia Community Tennis Development Workshop the evening of Saturday February 8th at the JW Marriott Buckhead.
