Georgia Open ITF Wheelchair Recap

Some of the top wheelchair players in the world converged on the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College last week for the Georgia Open.  

The tournament is a 500 level event on the UNIQLO ITF Wheelchair Circuit, and a key warm-up event for this week’s Cajun Classic in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Tournament Director Ann Hortman welcomed 57 players to the Peach State, including 8 of the top 10 world ranked players in the quad divison, 5 in the men’s divison and 6 in the women’s division.

Women’s Singles – Lizzy De Greef (Netherlands) def. Ksenia Chasteau (France) 6-4, 6-4

Women’s Doubles – Luoyao Guo (China)/Kgothatso Montjane (South Africa) def. Lucy Shuker (Great Britain)/Aniek Van Koot (Netherlands) 7-6(3), 6-7(4) (10-3)
Men’s Doubles – Daniel Caverzaschi (Spain)/Ruben Spaargaren (Netherlands) def. Ho Won Im (South Korea)/Conner Stroud (United States) 6-2, 6-2
Quad Doubles – Donald Ramphadi (South Africa)/Jin Woodman (Australia) def. Francisco Cayulef (Chile)/Gonzalo Lazarte (Argentina) 6-4, 6-3
