Congratulations to the Georgia Tech Tennis on Campus squad, they reached the national championship match, finishing in 2nd place overall (out of 64 teams). The TOC National Championships were proudly hosted by the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College.
The Yellow Jackets swept their pool play opponents (Denver, Gonzaga & Maryland) to advance to the “Gold” bracket. There they defeated San Diego State (30-23), Virginia (26-25) and USC (25-24) before coming up short against a strong UC Berkeley team in the finals.
The University of Georgia and Emory University also represented the Peach State in fine fashion at the tournament.
The Bulldogs also swept their pool play opponents (Carnegie Mellon, Minnesota & Texas) and captured the “Gold” bracket consolation championship, defeating Duke (30-17) in the finals.
The Eagles overtook Colorado State in pool play and won 2 additional matches in the “Bronze” consolation bracket (Northeastern & Arizona State).
