JTT Coach Highlight – Ben Smith

Junior Team Tennis (JTT) is all about developing players both on and off the court, and Coach Ben Smith is a great example of what that journey can look like.

Ben has experienced JTT from multiple perspectives — first as a player and now as a coach — giving him a unique understanding of the program and the young athletes he works with. Through years of playing and competing, he developed a strong foundation in the game, and today he is using that experience to guide the next generation of players.

Currently attending Georgia Southern University, Ben balances his college responsibilities with coaching, bringing energy, patience, and a positive attitude to every practice and match. His ability to connect with players makes him an especially valuable mentor for youth athletes learning the sport.

According to his coordinator in the USTA Junior Team Tennis program in Southeast Georgia (SEGA), Ben’s impact goes far beyond the court.

“As his coordinator, I am proud to receive praise from his coaching peers as well as parents. Ben is quietly effective and big in the smile department.” – Robert Brown, SEGA Coordinator

Coaches like Ben Smith show that the JTT pathway doesn’t end when players age out. It often comes full circle, with former players returning to inspire the next generation. And with his positive attitude and dedication to the sport, Ben is doing exactly that in Southeast Georgia.
