Sam Crenshaw Honored with Dan Magill “Impact” Award

Congratulations to Sam Crenshaw on receiving the prestigious Dan Magill “Impact” Award.  He was presented the award at the recently held Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

A tireless ambassador for the sport of tennis across the Peach State, Sam’s impact in the sports media world is noteworthy. Sam currently hosts USTA Southern’s “Talking Tennis Southern Style” podcast, a weekly snapshot on all things Southern tennis. He has also hosted “Matchpoint Atlanta”, a weekly tennis program that aired regionally on SportSouth and locally on 11Alive.

His service to USTA Georgia is recognizable, as he currently serves on the Advisory Council as a Presidential Appointee, a role he has been appointed to by three consecutive USTA Georgia Presidents. For many years, he has served as master of ceremonies at the annual USTA Georgia awards dinner celebration, held in conjunction with the Association’s Community Tennis Development Workshop. He was recently recognized by USTA Georgia as the Marc Kaplan Media Excellence Award winner.

Outside tennis, Sam is a respected veteran sports reporter and television sports anchor with a range of roles. Currently, he is the weekend morning host on Sports Radio 92.9 The Game, as well as the Sports Anchor for CW69 News at 10. Sam is also a producer/ correspondent for City of Atlanta TV (ATL 26) . Crenshaw is a broadcaster and content producer for GPB Sports. He currently serves as a sideline reporter for the Georgia State University Panther Football Radio Network and is the play-by-play voice for Georgia State basketball on ESPN3 . Sam is known in the Atlanta community for his knowledge of local athletes and teams as well as his passion for playing tennis.
