How did you get involved in teaching tennis?
It was extremely efficient part-time work after college while looking for full-time employment. I realized eventually that teaching tennis is a rewarding career to be considered.
Diehard fan of what sports team?
I used to schedule a weekend around sports on television, however my weekends are now prioritized for my family.
Best part of your game?
My ability to get away with hitting low percentage shots has historically worked out well for me.
Dream doubles match would be me and….
My old partner Lyle against Bob & Mike Bryan
When I’m not teaching tennis I’m…..
Spending time with my family (with Tennis Channel on in the background).
My favorite tennis memory is…
Remembering how hard my father worked to get the rabbit ears antenna on the little black & white TV to a point where we could almost watch Wimbledon when I was a kid.
My favorite pro player is….
I’m currently in between favorites missing a soon to retire Andy Murray.
# 1 reason why I enjoy teaching & coaching tennis
The opportunity to shape a young person’s life for the better or help any of the hundreds to thousands of people we see every year to be better, not just at tennis but in their pursuit of happiness and personal success is by far what offers me a feeling of fulfillment.
What important tennis message do you want to promote?
Tennis is not a “zero sum” game. Those of us in the industry need to work together to make tennis even better than it already is.
