Georgian Taylor Townsend Captures 2025 Australian Open Title

Congratulations to Stockbridge native Taylor Townsend on capturing the 2025 Australian Open Women’s Doubles title with partner Katerina Siniakova.

Winning six matches on the way to the title, the pair defeated Su-Wei Hsieh & Jelena Ostapenko 6-2, 6-7(3), 6-3 in the championship match.

This is the second Grand Slam doubles title for Townsend, previously winning the 2024 Wimbledon women’s doubles title.  She has now reached the finals of all four majors in women’s doubles, along with a 2024 US Open mixed doubles final appearance (w/Georgian Donald Young).

Congratulations to Taylor and way to start the 2025 season with a bang!
