National Tennis Month In Full Swing

“May is National Tennis Month” is in full swing across the Peach State. 

Celebrations, proclamations and events are happening everywhere as we celebrate the sport of a lifetime.

Here are a few highlights so far:

– The Clarke-Oconee Tennis Association celebrated their 25th anniversary of service to the Athens region.  Congratulations COTA!

– The Atlanta Senior Invitational (ASI) is underway at Cherokee Town & Country Club, one of the top men’s senior events in the United States.

– Georgia schools are knee deep in NCAA regional play.  The Division I Super Regional round features the University of Georgia women, while the  Columbus State men & women, North Georgia men & women, Valdosta State men, Georgia College women and Emory men & women battle through the Division II & III regionals.

– The first USTA Georgia League State Championship took place last weekend in Rome (18 & over 2.5, 3.5, 4.5).  Next weekend is the second half of the 18 & over in Macon (3.0, 4.0 low, 4.0 & 5.0).

– Not only has Governor Brian Kemp declared Tennis Month across Georgia, the Chattahoochee Area Tennis Association (CHATA) & Mountain Tennis Association have received proclamations from their local government officials celebrating NTM.

– National Tennis Month community events are happening, one example is the below video from the Macon Area Tennis Association launching their Adult Red Ball series!
