Georgia Duo Wins National Title & Brings Home Gold

Georgia tennis is shining on the national stage! Chris Bussert (Big Canoe) and Danny Carlson (Mableton) teamed up to capture their second gold ball of the year together, winning the USTA National 70 & Over Doubles Championship at the historic Philadelphia Cricket Club.

Also noteworthy is Keith Banister (Roswell), who reached the doubles final with partner Timothy Garcia of Santa Fe, NM.

Bussert & Carlson put on a commanding performance throughout the tournament — not dropping a single set and allowing just three games in the finals.

This marks Carlson’s third gold ball of the year — two earned alongside Bussert — further underscoring the duo’s strength on the court. With this latest title, the duo has also strengthened their case for selection to the United States Jack Crawford (M70) World Team next year, a goal both hope to achieve following their remarkable success this season.

Congratulations to Chris, Danny & Keith on this outstanding accomplishment and for proudly representing Georgia tennis!
