Georgia’s rising tennis talent made a statement on the pro stage as Yannik Alvarez of Cumming and Ryan Cozad of Alpharetta captured their first professional title together, winning the doubles championship at an M15 event in Orlando.
Competing at the renowned USTA National Campus, the duo showcased composure and chemistry well beyond their experience level. The tournament, part of the USTA Pro Circuit, draws emerging players from around the world, making the victory even more significant for the Georgia pair.
In the championship match, Alvarez and Cozad delivered a dominant performance, defeating Benjamin Thomas George of Canada and Christopher Li of Peru in straight sets, 6–2, 6–4. From the opening games, the team controlled the tempo with aggressive net play and consistent serving, never allowing their opponents to settle into a rhythm.
The title marks a major milestone for both players, signaling their arrival on the professional circuit and highlighting the strength of player development in Georgia.
