Georgia’s adult league tennis season continues this weekend as teams from across the state head to Columbus for the Adult 55 & Over State Championship, taking place May 29–June 1, 2026.
Men’s and women’s teams in the 3.0–4.0 divisions, along with 9.0 Combined, will compete throughout the weekend for the opportunity to earn a state title and represent their communities on one of Georgia’s biggest league stages. The championship brings together experienced competitors from across the state for four days of team tennis, spirited competition, and plenty of memorable moments on court.
One of the things that makes league tennis special is the opportunity to compete at every stage of life, and this championship is a great example of that. The Adult 55 & Over division continues to grow across Georgia, with players demonstrating that competition, teamwork, and a love for the game remain as strong as ever. Tennis is often recognized as one of the healthiest sports in the world, with research showing the game can support long-term heart health, balance, coordination, and overall wellness—benefits that continue far beyond match day.
Throughout the weekend, players will represent their local teams with pride while building connections with fellow competitors from around the state. From close matches and comeback wins to longtime teammates sharing another championship experience together, the event reflects what makes USTA League tennis such an important part of Georgia’s tennis community.
Best of luck to all teams competing this weekend in Columbus. We look forward to celebrating a great championship and cheering on players from across Georgia as they take the court!
