Camp MOE-MENTUM Participants Discover the Joy of Tennis Through Adapted Programming

USTA Georgia is committed to ensuring that tennis is a sport for everyone. Through adapted tennis programs, players of all abilities can experience the physical, social, and emotional benefits of the game in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Adapted tennis at USTA Georgia encompasses modified rules, specialized equipment, and tailored instruction designed to make tennis accessible for individuals with physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities. The goal is simple: to provide meaningful, year-round tennis opportunities for anyone who wants to play, regardless of their mental or physical abilities.

This summer, USTA Georgia partnered with Special Pops Tennis to bring tennis to the campers of Camp MOE-MENTUM. Over the course of three weeks, six fun-filled tennis clinics introduced campers to fundamental tennis skills through engaging games, teamwork activities, and interactive drills.

Camp Moe-Mentum is a local and inclusive fitness and recreation camp designed specifically for children, teens, and tweens with disabilities. It aims to foster an environment of fun, fitness, and friendship for campers of all abilities.

A special thank you goes to Maureen Wales, founder of Camp Moe-mentum, for her leadership and dedication in making this partnership possible. Her efforts helped create an unforgettable experience for the campers and provided an opportunity for everyone involved to see firsthand how tennis can positively impact lives.

USTA Georgia also extends its gratitude to Special Pops Tennis, the volunteers, buddies, and camp staff who helped make these clinics a success. Together, we are continuing to grow the game and ensure that tennis truly is a sport for every body.
