Georgia Junior Team Tennis teams made a strong showing at the 2nd Annual Mary Hatfield Junior Team Tennis Invitational, held September 5–6 at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama.
The event brought together 48 teams from eight states—Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee—for a weekend filled with competitive tennis, teamwork and fun.
Georgia was well represented throughout the Invitational, with Atlanta-area teams competing across multiple age groups and divisions, along with a team from the Southern Crescent Tennis Association. By the end of the weekend, Georgia teams had captured six division championships and earned three runner-up finishes.
Georgia Champions
Atlanta teams celebrated championships in several divisions:
- 10U Orange Ball: Hunter — Champion
- 10U Advanced: Kovvuri — Champion
- 12U Beginner: Cao — Champion
- 14U Beginner: Harder — Champion
- 14U Intermediate: Nall — Champion
The Southern Crescent Tennis Association (SCTA) Graham team also brought home a championship in the 18U Beginner division.
Strong Finishes Across Georgia
Georgia teams also turned in several impressive runner-up performances. Venkatesh finished as the finalist in 10U Orange Ball, while Challa earned runner-up honors in 12U Beginner. In the 12U Advanced division, Cartwright finished as finalist.
From the youngest competitors to the 18U division, Georgia players demonstrated the value of Junior Team Tennis—competing together, supporting their teammates and representing their communities on a regional stage.
