Maegan Kulich named 2023 John Callen “Excellence in Leadership” Award winner

MARIETTA, GA – USTA Georgia is pleased to announce that Maegan Kulich of Marietta is the 2023 recipient of the prestigious John Callen “Excellence in Leadership” Award. The award is named after longtime USTA Southern Executive Director and USTA Georgia Past President John Callen, who passed away in April 2022. The award recognizes a USTA, Community Tennis Association or NJTL staff member who exemplifies leadership and excellence in their organization.

Maegan has been part of the USTA Atlanta staff since December 2008, currently serving as Director of Adult Programs as of August 2011.
Through her efforts and leadership, USTA Atlanta administers the largest USTA League program in the United States with an astounding 36,914 registrations, an increase of over 1,000 participants from 2022.

She is a two-time Local League Coordinator of the Year for USTA Georgia (2014 & 2020), as well as the 2014 USTA Southern Local League Coordinator of the Year. In addition, Maegan has served players throughout the state by being an active part of the USTA Georgia League Committee from 2013 to present day.

“It’s an honor to receive the John Callen Excellence in Leadership award,” reflected Maegan. “Winning an award named after someone as esteemed as John Callen is a huge compliment. I’ve had very strong role models within the USTA Georgia and Southern organization that have guided me along the way and I wouldn’t be where I am today without that support and guidance. I consider it a privilege to work for USTA Atlanta and I could not be prouder of everything we have been able to accomplish post-pandemic.”

Maegan (along with other USTA Georgia annual awards winners) will be recognized at the USTA Georgia Community Tennis Development Workshop the evening of Saturday February 10th at the JW Marriott Buckhead.
