Congratulations to Marcy Hirshberg on being recognized as a Champion of Equality at the 2026 US Open!
The recognition celebrates individuals who are helping advance equality and create greater opportunities through tennis, carrying forward Billie Jean King’s belief in the power of sport to make a difference.
Marcy has been a dedicated leader and advocate within the tennis community for many years. A former USTA Southern Board member and the 2023 recipient of the USTA Southern Charles B. Morris Jr. Service Award, she has served on numerous committees at both the USTA national and Southern section levels.
Her commitment to serving the sport continues. Marcy has also been proposed to serve on the 2027–2028 USTA National Nominating Committee, another opportunity to contribute her experience and leadership to the future of tennis.
We are proud to celebrate Marcy and this meaningful recognition with our Southern tennis community. Her continued service reflects the impact that dedicated volunteers and leaders can have in expanding opportunities and strengthening the sport.
