Yellow Jackets Rally to Back-to-Back National Runner-Up Finish

For the second consecutive year, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets club tennis delivered an impressive performance on the national stage, finishing as runner-up in the Gold Bracket at the USTA Tennis On Campus National Championship.

Their journey to Nationals took a unique turn this season. Rather than qualifying through traditional pathways, the Yellow Jackets secured their spot by earning Southern Section Club of the Year honors—an achievement that set the tone for their standout run.

In pool play, Georgia Tech faced its toughest challenge against Yale Club Tennis. After a tightly contested battle, Tech advanced to the Gold Bracket through a three-way tie, claiming the edge with a superior win percentage.

The momentum carried into the knockout rounds. In a thrilling opening match against Virginia Tech Club Tennis, the Yellow Jackets mounted a comeback and clinched the victory in mixed doubles—sparking a run that would take them all the way to the championship match.

In the final, Georgia Tech squared off against the powerhouse UCLA Bruins club tennis. Despite a strong effort, the Yellow Jackets fell 28–12, securing a second-place finish and cementing their status as one of the nation’s premier club tennis programs.

With back-to-back national runner-up finishes, Georgia Tech continues to raise the bar and build a legacy of excellence on the Tennis On Campus stage.
