Ansley Cargill & Bobby Reynolds to receive Georgia Tennis highest honor

MARIETTA, GA – The Georgia Tennis Foundation (GTF) announced today the inductees for the 2026 Sessions Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame class. Joining the 78 current members of the Sessions Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame are Ansley Cargill & Bobby Reynolds.

In addition, the Coach Dan Magill “Impact” Award will be bestowed upon longtime Georgia volunteer leader and tennis advocate, Manny Guillen.

“The Hall of Fame Selection committee met and selected two very meritorious new inductees.” stated Hall of Fame Selection Committee Chairman Richard Howell. “Congratulations to each of them on this prestigious honor.”

Ansley Cargill was a standout junior player from Atlanta, reaching the top 10 in the ITF Junior world rankings. As a junior player, she competed in the US Open, French Open & Wimbledon. Parlaying her junior success, she was the #1 recruit in the United States and attended Duke University in 2001. Despite only playing one year of college tennis, Cargill left an immediate mark on the Blue Devil program. She captured the Riviera ITA All-American Championships title and was runner-up at the Rolex National Indoors, reaching #1 in the ITA National rankings. With a 42-3 singles record, Cargill was named ACC Rookie & Player of the Year, along with ITA National Rookie of the Year. Turning professional in 2001, Cargill enjoyed a five-year WTA career, which included career high rankings of #90 in singles and #67 in doubles, along with 4 ITF singles & doubles titles. She reached the second round of the 2003 Australian Open, falling to fellow American Venus Williams. She was a bronze medalist at the 2003 Pan American Games.

Originally from Acworth, Bobby Reynolds is widely considered the greatest player in the history of Vanderbilt University. After a strong junior career where he consistently was regarded as one of the top players in the Southern Section, Reynolds made the pilgrimage to Nashville and never looked back. Reaching the #1 singles ranking in the country, he helped the Commodores reach the NCAA team final in 2003 and was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. He still holds several school records, including best career winning percentage (73.9%) and most singles wins in a season (46). Reynolds went on to reach ATP career high rankings of #63 in singles and #46 in doubles. He reached the singles third round of the 2005 Australian Open and 2008 Wimbledon, while also reaching the doubles third round of all four Grand Slams. He continued to demonstrate his excellence in team play, helping lead the Washington Kastles to four consecutive World Team Tennis championships (2011-2014). He presently is the Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Auburn.

Cargill, Reynolds & Guillen will be honored at the 2026 Sessions Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by First Horizon Bank on Saturday evening August 15th at Marietta Country Club. Tickets will go on sale for the festivities on June 1st
