Nearly 700 Players to Compete in Adult 18 & Over State Championships

This weekend, Macon, Georgia becomes the center of adult league tennis as players from across the state compete in the Adult 18 & Over 2.5, 3.5, and 4.5 State Championships, taking place May 15–17, 2026.

The event will feature 698 players representing 60 teams, all competing for state titles and the chance to advance to sectionals. Teams from 12 Community Tennis Associations have earned their spot in the championship, creating a strong and diverse field of competitors from throughout Georgia.

One of the most inspiring aspects of this event is the range of participants taking the court. Competitors span generations, from 18-year-olds to players in their 80s, highlighting tennis as a sport that can truly be enjoyed for life. Research has even linked tennis to increased longevity and overall health benefits, further supporting its reputation as one of the healthiest sports in the world.
