The Georgia Lawn Tennis Association came into being in 1954 as one of eight Districts of the Southern Lawn Tennis Association, a Section of USLTA. The Georgia Tennis Association of today was incorporated on September 19, 1977 under the laws of the State of Georgia with the stated objective to “create, develop, maintain, and promote the game of tennis.”
